This week's episode features stories of two emergency medical trips -- both with happy endings.
I got off lucky in the first story, with just a fish hook in the thumb. Our son Bill, when patrolling on a Coast Guard cutter in the Bering Sea, treated a fisherman who had a fish hook in an eye ball. Read that without wincing!
The second story tells about my airlift from Valdez to Anchorage, to deliver a bouncing baby boy. I got the opposite of a window seat on that flight.
